I’m not going to lie: Stephen Chow’s “Journey to the West” looks good to me. The keyword in that sentence: TO ME. I know the CGI isn’t the greatest, and I’m aware the film itself appears to have been conceived by a five-year-old on an acid trip, but that’s precisely why I’m intrigued. Hey, I never once said I had good taste in cinema.

Last November, the promotional team behind “Journey to the West” dropped a teaser upon the world at-large. Now it would seem another short clip has found its way onto the internet. Both of these clips have been embedded below for your infinite viewing pleasure.

Co-directors Stephen Chow and Derek Kwok are currently keeping details about the flick close to their respective chests. During a press conference last month, Chow did say the film would has a romantic subplot. Then again, don’t they all?

As the film’s 2013 release date draws near, chances are more information about the flick will come to light. Right now, all you need to know is that the film features an array of computer-generated shenanigans involving monsters and magic. “Journey to the West” stars Shu Qi, Bo Huang, Zhang Wen, Show Luo, and Chrissie Chow. You can check out the teasers below.

the story is so good. CGI looks not quite up to par, but it’ll have to do.

Actually it is best to just watch the movie and have fun. You’ll be pleasantly surprised and entertained because of Stephen Chow’s vision & originality unlike other blockbuster pretender. it’s not a big movie, but the powerful imagery will stir in your mind for a while.
