Steven Seagal Finally Raises Hell in the US This April

I know many of you have been wondering, “When will Steven Seagal’s direct-to-video opus ‘Born to Raise Hell’ finally see the light of day on DVD and Blu-ray in the United States?” It’s a question I am asked on a fairly regular basis. However, up until this point, I didn’t have a response that would satisfy those who were in need of a little Seagal fix. Thankfully, Paramount will unleash the big guy’s STV actioner “Born to Raise Hell” on the aforementioned formats on April 19th. No special features have been announced yet, and I seriously doubt they ever will be. Come on — this is a Seagal flick, not “Inception”.

Here’s a handy synopsis for those who are curious:

Seagal stars as Sanuel Axel, an Interpol agent assigned to an Eastern European task force targeting gun trafficking and dope running throughout the Balkans. While investigating a Russian gun dealer, his team is caught in a bloody street war between a Gypsy gang and the Russians, leaving one task force member dead. Fueled by vengeance, Axel leads his team on a new mission to avenge his friend’s death in this action-packed thrill ride that will have audiences on the edge of their seats right up to the explosive finale.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)
