We’re all still waiting for that first official trailer for Open Road Films’ “Red Dawn” remake, which should be here soon. Maybe. It’s actually pretty odd that it hasn’t shown up online yet. The film already got one of those previews on TV ala Entertainment Tonight, and usually once that happens, the trailer is released to the public. Not so in this case. In fact, Open Road Films actually went around pulling all the snippets of the trailer. Again, just a really weird way to market a movie, especially for a film that hasn’t exactly been saddled with great press in the three years since it was shot. Anyways, until the studio decides to grace us with a trailer for their movie, here’s a new poster for “Red Dawn” to keep you busy. Update: Just got word that the trailer is due tomorrow.
In Red Dawn, a city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.
Starring Chris Hemsworth, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Adrianne Palicki, Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas, Josh Peck, Brett Cullen, Matt Gerald, Will Yun Lee, Michael Beach, Connor Cruise, and directed by Dan Bradley.
The Wolverines strike November 21, 2012.
