I used to play “Street Fighter” on the arcades way, way back when there were still arcades. Not so much these days, what with the PS10s and X-Box-1000s and such that you kids are all on. Apparently writer/director Joey Ansah was one of those kids who lined up to put in his quarters to battle some fool on a “Street Fighter” arcade game after school, because why else would he dedicate so much time and effort to making this movie? I’m honestly not sure if kids these days even remember “Street Fighter.”
Anyways. Check out the latest teaser trailer for the upcoming TV series/DVD movie/online series, which focuses on Ryu. They sure have the costume down, that’s fer sho.
Assassin’s Fist is the translation of ‘Ansatsuken’ the arcane Japanese lethal Martial Arts style of which Gouken, Gouki/Akuma Ryu and Ken are all exponents.
Through the coming of age story of Ryu & Ken, we are shown the back story of some of the game’s most iconic characters, and over the course of the series we will see how the past, present, and future of all of those characters are intertwined, as the battle to become Ansatsuken Master threatens to tear apart another generation of brothers.
Starring Mike Moh as Ryu, Howard as Ken Masters and writer/director Joey Ansah as Akuma.
“Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist” will debut on Machinima’s Youtube channel in May 2014, before hitting TV, On-demand and DVD/Blu-ray afterward.
