Summit Readies Twilight Sequel

Let’s face it, this thing is going to be BIG. A massive hit, if all the 13 to 15 year old girls who have been commenting in our “Twilight” articles have anything to say about it. The makers of “Twilight” will also be getting repeat viewings from my nieces, all of whom have read the “Twilight” books and can’t get enough of the thing. So what’s the smart thing to do, even if the movie itself hasn’t been released yet? Get the sequel ready, of course, so that when the movie lands and crashes the box office, Summit can send out a press release announcing “Twilight 2″.

Deadline Hollywood Daily has your “Twilight” sequel news:

When your soundtrack isn’t even completed much less released (not until November 4th), yet it’s already in the Top 5 Best-Selling Albums on Amazon based on pre-sales alone, you know you have a hit. When Borders makes an exclusive calendar and sells out the first printing in a matter of days, you know you have a hit. And when the new trailer to your movie surpasses 3.5 million views less than 48 hours after its online debut, you know you have a hit. Which is why Summit Entertainment’s CEO Rob Friedman is already readying a Twilight sequel — even though the vampire tween/tween movie isn’t set for release until November 21st which is the date vacated by Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince. Oh, and did I mention that Twilight has the fastest selling licensed merchandise since — you guessed it — Harry Potter?

For those who haven’t seen it yet, a new, final “Twilight” trailer was recently released. You can see that here.

Also, new stills from the movie have been added to our image gallery. You can see that by clicking on the image below.

I have all four books and have read them twice. I stood in line along with 300 other people to get the DVD. Oh yeah, by the way, I am 56. Don’t
change the characters too much or you will lose the impact of the story.
BElla is not ugly as one person stated. She is innocent and that is what
the storyline needed. Her and Edward are perfect together. Please tell
me you are not changing the characters of the Cullen family. IF so, I
think you will regret it. Consistent is the key word to make all the films successful!! You must stick with the story that Ms. Meyer wrote and not elaborate. Why the change in Directors…Did she not make Twilight successful?? You are risking a lot to bring in some new Director that might not have the vision to be fruitful. There is nothing
worse than a bad sequel…think about it! and GOOD LUCK! I look forward to the sequel because this one will be the hardest to keep us entertained!
