A pair of superhero casting for you today.
Up first, Deadline reports that actor Scoot McNairy (“Monsters”) has been added to the cast of Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which would re-team McNairy with his “Gone Girl” co-star Ben Affleck.
No word on what role he’ll be playing, though, but given that Snyder and company seem to be casting superhero cameos in anticipation of a “Justice League” movie in a few years, what are the chances he’s playing one of those costumed guys?
McNairy joins a cast that already includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and more recently, Jason Momoa as Aquaman.
Bats and Supes fight it out in 2016.
Meanwhile, over at Marveland, their Netflix superhero show “Daredevil” has added “The Hunger Games'” Elden Henson, who will be playing blind lawyer Matt Murdock’s best friend Foggy Nelson.
Henson joins Charlie Cox as the blind superhero and Vincent D’Onofrio as his archenemy the Kingpin, with Rosario Dawson also recently cast in an unknown role.
“Marvel’s Daredevil” follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
The 13-episode first season launches in 2015.
