Superhero Spoof Movie Has its Cast

I’m not sure if these “spoof movies” are still popular (didn’t “Epic” bombed?), but that’s not going to stop the guys behind “Superhero”, a movie spoof on, of course, superhero movies from going ahead with announcing the cast for their upcoming movie. As of right now, the cast includes teen heartthrob Drake Bell, Sara Paxton, Christopher McDonald, Leslie Nielsen, Kevin Hart, Marion Ross, Ryan Hansen, Jeffrey Tambor and Mr. Data himself, Brent Spiner. The film has a movie spoof vet at the helm, with Craig Mazin writing and directing, having previously worked on “Scary Movie 3″ and “4″.

And the rest of the crew behind “Superhero”? Let’s just say they’ve all been there before, according to Variety:

“Superhero” is produced by David Zucker and Robert K. Weiss. The trio of Mazin, Weiss and Zucker collaborated on “Scary Movie 3,” “Scary Movie 4,” “Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult,” “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!” and “The Naked Gun 2: The Smell of Fear.”

I’m still not sold on the present viability of these movies, and besides, didn’t “Epic” already spoof superheroes?
