Superman Gets an Official, New-ish Logo for his Man of Steel Reboot

Warner Bros. has released the official logo for the Big Blue Boy Scout to debut with in his 2013 adventures. Check it out below. I think it’s pretty cool myself. New-ish, but still recognizable as to who it belongs to. It certainly looks more … organic. Maybe not organic. Slicker and with more contours? Some such.

Anyways, approve or disapprove?

Zack Snyder’s film, a reboot of the D.C. Comics hero, stars Henry Cavill as a 20-something journalist wondering the world in search of his place in life, eventually leading him to suit up as the Man of Steel in order to save the planet from a couple of refugees from his old homeworld.

It co-stars Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Christopher Meloni, Antje Traue, Harry Lennix, Ayelet Zurer, and won’t be due until 2013, or June 14, 2013 to be more specific.

I think the word you’re looking for is alien – it looks alien. Which, you know it should, since it’s from an alien world and nobody else there walks around with letters from a primitive world’s alphabet emblazoned on their chests.

    I like it.

Still holding very high hopes for this in Snyder’s hands. The man can’t do his own films for jack, but adaptation, especially from comics, are a safe bet.

  • Thescowl

I like it. I am looking for this to be a great movie and with the extra time they have no less.

    I LOVE IT.
Unlike Avenger’s capt.america costum, this new S really looks awesome modern!

  • okisan

    Approved!

  • Jonnydownes

It looks like a rip off dreamworks would use to joke on super-shrek to me. But I also understand the traditional shield may seem dated on screen. I won’t judge anything about the film on the image but I feel its new for new sake and I personally like the original old “S”

Disapprove (but by no means strongly)

Actually this is closer to the original look of the shield when it first debuted in that shape. Over the decades it was streamlined to the classic one we know.

Dedpool, your a genious! I didn’t notice the fact that this symbol is based on the original one.

Wow!! I liked before, but now I think is AWESOME!!

Ssshhhh! Don’t tell the world, I’ll have to beat people off me with a stick!

I like it alot! The extra swirl within (which probably won’t show on the suit) is an extra nice touch to give the whole thing depth.

I really look forward to seeing this film. It will be completely different than any Superman we’ve seen on screen before including animated.

  • Lexavi80

    I personally like it.

Love it, this is going to rock, and Cavill couldn’t be a better, tougher Man of STEEL, not strawberry underwear and a circus suit. Snyder promises action, I can’t wait! I’ve yet to seen Superman really punch. If you guys have seen IMMORTALS, in terms of ACTION, Cavill can really move, hes a natural for action.

  • Juggernaut

Meh. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it.
