Would-be “Crow” reboot director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s supernatural drama “Intruders” has been playing the festival circuit for a while now, and has even already been released in Fresnadillo’s native Spain. The movie is just now getting its official U.S. trailer, which you can take a gander at below. The film certainly looks like it’s got a couple of spooky shenanigans going for it, so that’s a plus. Plus, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (ahem, excuse me, I meant, visionary director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo) has shown he’s got style to burn, so if nothing else, “Intruders” should be a slick horror offering.
Intruders tells parallel stories of two families whose lives are disrupted by menacing apparitions: in Spain, a mother tries to protect her son from a faceless stranger, while in Britain, a young girl has terrifying dreams of a demon who becomes a real danger to her and her family.
Starring Clive Owen, Daniel Brühl, Carice van Houten, Ella Purnell, Kerry Fox, Pilar López de Ayala, and Lolita Chakrabarti.
No word on a Stateside release date yet, but the film will be making its U.S. premiere at part of SXSW’s Midnighter line-up next month down in Austin.
