Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki to Star in Friday the 13th Remake

Not content to just fight demons, vampires, and other assorted supernatural creatures of the night on the CW’s Supernatural TV show, Jared Padalecki is currently in negotiations to do it on the big screen — by headlining the cast of Michael Bay’s upcoming “Friday the 13th” reboot. And why not? Considering the plot (below), it definitely looks like Padalecki will be in familiar territory — as someone investigating Jason’s crime spree at Crystal Lake. You know, just like Sam Winchester, minus Dean.

Paramount released the original “Friday” in 1980, introducing horror icon Jason with a brief appearance. The remake will focus on the serial killer, who will wear his now-iconic hockey mask. Padalecki will play the lead, who investigates what happened up at Crystal Lake.

Marcus Nispel will direct the reboot for Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes.
