Skip Woods burst onto the scene with the interesting John Travolta actioner “Swordfish”, and he’s since added “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and the upcoming “A-Team” movie to his credits. Now he’s set to take a crack at chronicling John McClane’s latest outing in the still untitled “Die Hard 5” for Fox.
The last time New York cop John McClane battled terrorists was in 2007 with Len Wiseman’s “Live Free or Die Hard”, a film that went on to gross $383 million worldwide, including $249 in overseas box office alone, proving that John McClane’s brand of punny mayhem still had plenty of clout with moviegoers. There are no plot for the fifth installment, but chances are it’ll include terrorists and McClane once again in the wrong place at the right time, and he will no doubt bring along a civilian sidekick for comedic purposes.
Meanwhile, Willis has the videogame adaptation “Kane and Lynch” coming up with Jamie Foxx, the comic book adaptation “Red”, and an extended cameo in Sylvester Stallone’s “The Expendables.”
