Takashi Shimizu’s The Shock Labyrinth Finally Arrives on DVD This May

Way back in the year that was 2011, we reported that Well Go USA had acquired the rights to “Ju-On” director Takashi Shimizu’s much-maligned horror opus “The Shock Labyrinth”, a motion picture about a group of teenagers fighting for their very lives inside a creepy-ass, er, labyrinth. How impossibly chilling! Now, the fine folks over at this extremely genre-friendly distributor will unleash Shimizu’s supernatural beast into greedy North American hands this May. Hopefully “Rabbit Horror 3D” will follow very shortly. My fingers are crossed so freaking hard my toes hurt. And vice versa!

Before proceeding, investigate this proper synopsis:

A group of teenagers deals with the sudden return of their friend. After the friend falls ill they take the sick friend to a hospital only to find out it is a horrific labyrinth.

All set? Splendid! “The Shock Labyrinth” will have its way with your tender young mind when it hits DVD and Blu-ray on May 8th, 2012. You can further acquaint yourself with the film by taking a look at the trailer, which has been included at no extra charge.

About Todd Rigney

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
