Taylor Kitsch is Gambit in Wolverine?

Written by Nix | February 19th, 2008 | 0 Comments |

The “Wolverine” updates are getting ridiculous, but it’s not anymore ridiculous as all the characters they’re jamming into the upcoming movie. Seriously, at this point who isn’t showing up in the flick? Where is that Irish girl who can scream really loud, or that kid who can throw fireworks out of her hands? Point is, if this is an Origins Movie for Wolverine, why are the filmmakers putting so many pointless characters into this thing? And now — Gambit?

More:

Scooper ‘Chaos Bringer’ has revealed on Superhero Hype!’s message boards that “Friday Night Lights” star Taylor Kitsch will play Gambit (AKA Remy LeBeau) in director Gavin Hood’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Kitsch has signed a three-picture deal.

Kitsch, whose biggest role to date has been playing bone-headed tough guy Tim Riggins on the NBC show Friday Night Lights, joins a cast that already includes Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth, Danny Huston as Stryker and Lynn Collins as Silver Fox. And of course, rumor has Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool.

Okay, a couple of things. SuperheroHype is a pretty respectable site, but their big source here is a “scooper” on their message board name “Chaos Bringer”? Wow, that’s not really much of a source there, guys. Mind you, this will probably turn out to be true and all, but I expect crappy little sites like mine to go around sourcing guys name “Chaos Bringer” on message boards, but not SHH!

In any case, this news is bleh to me. I’ve never been much of a Gambit fan, mostly because reading accents in comic books is really, really painful.

20th Century Fox will release “Wolverine” on May 1, 2009
