Taylor Swift Getting Kidnapped in Matthew Vaughn’s The Secret Service?

Taylor Swift Singer Taylor Swift, who I’m told makes a living writing songs about dating boys, has reportedly landed a role in “X-Men: First Class” director Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming “The Secret Service”.

A source told the UK’s Daily Mirror (so, you know, take it with a very, very healthy grain of you-know-what) that the film’s producers have added the 20-something singer in the role of a kidnapped victim, who is abducted by Samuel L Jackson’s villain in the movie.

Says the source:

Matthew looked at a number of actresses to play the part before settling on Taylor – apparently she was a natural on the big screen. She’s also someone fresh and unseen in Hollywood terms which was massively appealing. She will be required to have some heavy-duty martial arts training in order that her character convincingly kick Samuel L Jackson’s butt.

The source then goes on to add how Swift has a crush on David Beckham, who is apparently also in the movie. I don’t know why that’s even relevant, but there you go. I’ve never read the Mark Millar comic books that the movie will be based on, so I don’t now how big of a role this really is.

This wouldn’t be the first acting gig for Swift. She was one of the many stars of “Valentine’s Day”, and she provided the voice of the female lead in “The Lorax”. She also recently had a guest spot on Fox’s “New Girl” sitcom.

The film is set to shoot later this year for a 2014 release, with Taron Egerton set to play the film’s young lead, who is recruited to join the titular Secret Service and save the Queen and country and such. The movie will co-star Jackson, along with Colin Firth and Michael Caine. Vaughn will direct from a script he co-wrote with Jane Goldman.
