Teaser Poster for Alex Winter’s The Gate Remake

Generally speaking, I detest most remakes. However, given that “Freaked” director and “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” alumni Alex Winter is behind the reimagining of “The Gate”, I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. The film, of course, is based on Tibor Takács’s 1987 chiller, which finds a very young Stephen Dorff battling demons after a heavy metal record opens a portal to Hell in his backyard. Rumor has it that H.R. Giger will be designing the creature, though I’m not entirely sure how much truth is embedded in that particular statement. Winter and crew are shooting for a 2011 release date, though I’m hoping they ditch the 3-D aspect long before cameras start to roll. A guy can dream, can’t he? The aforementioned teaser poster lies below.

Greetings and salutations to Horror-Movies.ca for the image.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
