Teaser Poster for The Echo Remake
Horror Movie News, Movie Images, The Echo (Remake, 2008) Movie — By Nix on May 14, 2008
I remember reading about how the filmmakers and producers behind the Filipino horror movie “The Echo” created the film with the express purpose of getting it remade by Hollywood and cashing in on the then-current Asian horror movie craze. Well it’s been four years since the original “Echo” came out, and director Yam Laranas has finally gotten his wish — he’s not only gotten his movie remade by Hollywood, but he’s directing the remake himself. Yup. Thus ends our ability to bitch and whine about yet another unnecessary remake of a foreign movie.
So what’s it about?
An ex-con moves into an old apartment building, where he encounters a domestic problem involving a police officer, his wife, and their daughter. When he tries to intervene, however, a mysterious curse entraps him.
Starring Jesse Bradford, Amelia Warner, Iza Calzado, Louise Linton, Carlos Leon and Kevin Durand.

Iza is FIlipina. She is playing the same roleshe played in the original echo movie.
wow im a filipino
iza make filipino proud
very impressive….
The cast are great the story is something new in horror but honestly speaking the cinematography is too very amateur, im a filipino and proud but we have accept the fact that our cinematography is not that good maybe we have to focus more on that, its just like an indy film
im also a no.1 fan of GMA 7 network i admire all the programs of this network and im also a fan of ms. iza calzado i think the director has the problem for this cinematography. very amateur, kinda disappointing in some future hollywood movies you had to work hard on cinematography that’s all i can say…
The Echo, directed by young filmmaker Yam Laranas, certainly comes as a surprise to even those horror fans who claim to have seen everything. The film manages to be both artistic and terrifying. A rare and strangely powerful combination. – The Echo Movie Review, by Lance Curtis
