Teaser Poster for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D

Take a gander at the first teaser poster for “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D”, a reboot/sequel of sorts to the 1974 original by Tobe Hooper. The film will pretend the rest of the TCM movies never happened, which, let’s face it, is probably for the best. As much as I enjoyed watching Jessica Biel and Jordana Brewster running from a chainsaw-wielding maniac, once you add the word “Beginning” to your sequel title, there really isn’t a whole lot of other places to go after that.

The film features a cast that includes Marilyn Burns, Gunnar Hansen, Bill Moseley, Dan Yeager, Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Trey Songz, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry, Paul Rae, Scott Eastwood, Richard Riehle, and will be directed by John Lussenhop (“Takers”).

Like the poster says, look for it in the Fall of 2012.

I actually prefer the 2003 remake. While the original was shocking and contraversial in its day, the plot, acting and direction leave a lot to be desired. It is still one of my favorite cult movies mind you, I just find that the remake was a better executed film. 2006’s “The Beginning” was okay too. Hopefully this one delivers.

I actually liked the Biel one as well. Had its moments.

The changes that were made all worked. Especially getting rid of the wheelchair bound annoying chracter. That change alone made me like the remake more. The ending was way better too. However, the grainy quality and nostalgic nature of the original will always keep me a fan.
