I always thought that Jon Foo, the star of the live-action “Tekken” movie, had potential to jumpstart a pretty decent martial arts movie career, and was somewhat disappointed when that film didn’t immediately lead to some bigger budgeted productions. But that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been working. Foo is the star of French director Jean-Marc Minéo’s “Bangkok Revenge” (aka “Rebirth”, aka “Bangkok Renaissance”). Yeah, “Bangkok Revenge” definitely sounds more kick ass. Check out a new trailer for the film below. It looks pretty insane.
Manit (Jon Foo) witnessed the murder of his parents when he was just 10 years old. The killers shot him in the head, but he miraculously survived. However, the damage to his brain left him unable to experience regular human emotions. A martial arts master saved him and took him in. Twenty years later, Manit has become a master of martial arts himself. He returns to the scene of the crime, seeking justice.
“Bangkok Revenge” stars Jon Foo, Caroline Ducey, and Michael Cohen.
China Lion Entertainment says the film is due in theaters September 14, 2012, though I don’t know if that’s just French theaters, or worldwide, or what.
