13 Clips from X-Men: First Class

Did I mention the “X-Men: First Class” hype machine is rolling something fierce right now, two weeks before the film opens June 3rd? Just in case you didn’t hear it the first twenty times, here are ten twelve thirteen whopping clips from the movie to bring it home. Some are old, but most are new, and I dare say, there are quite a number of SPOILERS in these clips, so watch at your own discretion.

“X-Men: First Class” charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Starring Michael Fassbender, January Jones, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Kevin Bacon, Jason Flemyng, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Lucas Till, Zoë Kravitz, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily, Edi Gathegi, Caleb Landry Jones and directed by Matthew Vaughn.

The new ones were cool. I’m not crazy about the casting for Emma Frost or Sebastian Shaw. They lack the heir of sophistication and superiority that I always imagined them having. However, I really liked the line of Shaw’s about living like kings and queens.
Also, the missle scene with Magneto was really good. All in all these clips ramped up my desire to see the film.

This film might not be the original 5, but its definatly a fine looking film!!

Yes……yes……YES!!!! All the haters should start writing their apologies now. This film is easily going to be the better film than X3 and Wolverine (even though I liked those films). I remember rooting for Magneto a little bit in the comics, but I never got that vibe from the films until X3. Now, I wanna tell Xavier to just shut up and let a real pimp do his thing lol.

I have to say I’m impressed… but I’m also pretty sure I just figured out the whole movie! I’m glad that Fox is actually starting to promote this film a bit more – I just worry that by choosing to watch these clips I just spoiled the whole film for myself!

By the way Dominique – saying that this film will easily be better than X3 and Wolverine isn’t saying much… I’ve seen cinematics from video games that were better than those “films.” : )

    • Juggernaut

      Agreed!

X-Men: First Class will be awesome :)

X-Men Origins: Magneto might just be restart if Michael Fassbender can impress Marvel he’s up for the challenge.
    :D

I always think that too when I’m posting them. But when you really think about it, since each clip is less than a minute long, they don’t really total more than, oh, 8-9 minutes of the whole movie. Plus, even the action clips are heavily edited.

Okay I have to say I’m loving this. I really like Bacon as Shaw, and i’m sorry I gotta disagree with you Juggy, he shows just the right amount of superiority and sophistication. I think the victorian look added to that and without it, it seems diminished, but I thought the living like kings and queens line was the exclamation point to that. Also liked how they’re using his powers, where it seems like it’s almost an explosive release sometimes (the footstomp) but its still Superstrength from kinetic energy. Also liked Azazel using the sword a la Nightcrawler, and Riptide was pretty good. I really liked the Emma Frost scene. This definitely makes up for all the things they missed or I didn’t like in X-men and X2 (not many) and both X3 and Wolverine. Also keep hearing a rumor bout a Wolverine cameo.
