What about some "teen comedy" +"intelligent" movies starring females in leading roles? I'd seriously love to see some of those listed. Some witty and clever young female lead characters with comedic timing. Juno, for instance.

It seems that most teen comedies have ugly guys as the lead characters goofing off & trying to get "THAT hot chick that every guy wants" who is completely out of their league (yet typically falls for the ugly guy anyway). The male fantasy - only a male director and writer could come up with so many versions of that laudibly unrealistic story line - and only a male producer would dish out the bucks to produce it again and again. Men can identify with the plain, goofy "boy next door boy" but they forget that girls want someone WE can identify with: and it is not that hot, mean, 2-Dimensional 'babe' of teen comedies. The role of females in too many teen comedies is just to be "that hot chick", a girl who I can't personally relate to.

Sorry for the rant. Anyway, I am thrilled to see a list (albeit short, and lacking films with leading actresses) about INTELLIGENT comedies.

Shaun of the Dead is a well made parody movie but I think seriously overrated in the laugh department. I chuckled a bit but can't remember ever laughing out loud at anything. I've found actual horror movies to be funnier than Shaun of the Dead.

There's Something About Mary is very laugh out loud funny. Never really thought of it as an intelligent comedy though.

Seen them all and loved them all!!! But MY top 3 HAS to be:

3.Shaun of the dead
2.Airplane

And last but not least, the ultimate comedy classic...
1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail!!!
