Or is she? Or isn’t she? I have no idea. But here’s what we know: in an interview with Comingsoon while doing press junket for her upcoming “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, Teresa Palmer seemed to indicate that her participation in George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” was nothing more than “internet rumor”, but as far as I can tell, she doesn’t exactly come out and say: “I’m not in Mad Max Fury Road.” Or did she?
Here’s CS’s original report and you can judge for yourself:
When asked, Palmer put the previous reports of her involvement in the Australia-based project off to “internet rumors”…
And … that’s it. I’m not sure if the guy asking the question forgot to follow up or what, or at least get a solid yes or no. Then again, I see no reason why Palmer would play coy about a role in “Fury Road”, since it’s not exactly one of those chic “secret” movie projects that Hollywood guys love to wallow in so much so they can be “special”. Yes, I’m looking at you, M. Night and J.J. Abrams.
What we do know is that George Miller is back to direct, and Tom Hardy will be playing a younger version of Mad Max. We also know that Charlize Theron is the female lead, so Palmer wouldn’t have been the main female character in any case.
Mind you, not that the lovely Palmer (below) will be short on jobs. She’s already got D.J. Caruso’s sci-fi action movie “I am Number Four” lined up, and will be playing an alien alongside “Justified’s” Timothy Olyphant, Dianna Agron, Alex Pettyfer, and Kevin Durand. She’s also attached to Michael Dowse’s comedy “Young Americans” with Anna Faris and Topher Grace.
