George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” has added four new names to its cast: Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Teresa Palmer and Adelaide Clemens. Of the four, Palmer has been attached to the movie since last week, and she was rumored to be “the main chick”. As it turns out, she’ll be “one of the chicks”, but by no means the main one. That designation, it appears, still belongs to Charlize Theron, who will be co-starring in the sequel with Tom Hardy, who replaces Mel Gibson as the series hero, former cop turned apocalyptic wasteland warrior Mad Max.
Of the four new castmembers, Hoult has officially signed on, while Kravitz, Palmer and Clemens are still in the negotiations stage. Hoult will play a character named Nux, while Kravitz is apparently playing someone named “Five Wives”. Meanwhile, the story will find the new castmembers, along with Palmer and Clemens in a convoy being chased by bad guys. Or something along those lines. No doubt it’s Mad max to the rescue.
Not a lot is known about the plot for “Fury Road”, except that it takes place after the events of the last “Mad Max” movie, “Beyond Thunderdome”, which means the lead character is still a relatively young man. Miller returns to direct the franchise he created, and production is scheduled for Summer.
