20th Century Fox has apparently done a little tweaking with the title of their “Planet of the Apes” prequel, which was originally called “Caesar” before it was changed to just “Rise of the Apes”. CBM says the new title was made in order to make it more clear to moviegoers that “Rise” is directly connected to previous “Planet of the Apes” movies. And the new title?
“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”.
Whatever they end up calling it, “Apes” will star James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Andy Serkis, Brian Cox, and is directed by Rupert Wyatt. An origins story set in present day San Francisco, “Apes” will chronicle the rise of the head ape, Caesar (Serkis), and the eventual overthrow of humankind.
