In case you didn’t hear, an old copy of the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot (since re-titled simply “Ninja Turtles”) script has been going around the Interwebs all week. A TMNT blog first had it and supplied a (expected) scathing review, but I’m unable to find a link to that review now. No worries, though, because Latino Review have since unearthed their own copy, and have made a spiffy video that pretty much tells you what happens in the script from beginning to end, so it goes without saying…
Some of the highlights (or is that low-lights?) include Casey Jones and April O’Neill being turned into lovesick 18-year olds, Shredder becoming an evil military douche named Colonel Schrader and yes, there are alien shenanigans afoot, though perhaps not how you had expected. Kinda.
If the script doesn’t sound very appealing to you, no worries, the studio has already put the film back into development, with someone else banging out either a completely new script, or a heavy reworking of the existing one (the one being reviewed below). But for those curious as to what Michael Bay and company were working with before fan outrage got them to rethink things, please to enjoy:
