The 24 Movie Won’t Shoot in 2012. If, You Know, Ever.

Kiefer Sutherland in 24Keifer Sutherland wants to do it. Is even ready to do it. There’s apparently a script that everyone approves of. But 20th Century Fox appears to have axed the big-screen version of Jack Bauer — at least, for 2012.

Hollywood scuttlebutt has the studio putting a kibosh on the film’s March 2012 shoot, believing there won’t be enough time for Sutherland to hop back into uber counter-terrorist fighting mode during his hiatus from his new Fox show “Touch”. Which means, yes, “Touch” is the reason why you’re not going to be getting a “24″ movie anytime soon. This wouldn’t be so bad if “Touch” wasn’t such a blah show.

So now it looks like Sutherland will just have to wait until 2013 to shoot a “24″ movie — if, you know, it ever actually gets made. Luckily for fans of the show, Sutherland is still only 45, and Bruce Willis, who is ten years older, is still kicking ass (and believably, at that) as John McClane in the “Die Hard” movies. So yeah, there’s always that.

In the meantime, here’s a look at Jack Bauer’s best gal to tie you over until the movie finally happens:
