Marc Webb’s upcoming “The Amazing Spider-Man” is apparently so good and Sony is so sure that it’ll clean up at the box office when it opens next Summer, that they’ve already scheduled the sequel for May 2, 2014. That would keep the film from having to battle it out with Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel”, which was shipped off to 2013 in order to avoid tangling with “The Avengers” and “The Dark Knight Rises”.
“The Amazing Spider-Man”, a reboot of the Sam Raimi Spidey films that re-chronicles Peter Parker’s origins as Spider-Man, officially opens July 3, 2012. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Fields, Julianne Nicholson, Campbell Scott, Rhys Ifan, Irrfan Khan, and Annie Parisse.
