The Amazing Spider-Man Spins a Second Trailer Online

The Super Bowl might have been more “amazing” with a new spot by Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man”, but alas we’ll never know. Perhaps feeling a tad left out of the fun, Sony has decided to unleash the second trailer for their Spidey reboot onto the masses today after sneaking it earlier this week to unsuspecting crowds. But why watch it in a dark theater where you can only see it once, when you can now see it here over and over again? So, was it worth the wait? It doesn’t blow me away, but then again, after “Chronicle”, just watching the same ol Spider-Man story (its boasting of an “untold story” notwithstanding) that I already saw just 10 years ago feels a bit … tired? Spidey sure looks faster and more aggressive in this one, though, so that’s new.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Fields, Julianne Nicholson, Campbell Scott, Rhys Ifan, Irrfan Khan, Annie Parisse, and Chris Zylka.

Spidey spends his new/untold yarn July 3, 2012.

i gotta say the Lizard was my all time fave Spidey villian and kind of worried he is gonna get a bit part as they waste a lot of time digging into the school daze of little Peter. Sandman and Doc Oc were next which i believe they did an amazing job of in terms of casting and fx. William Dafoe is king but ended up in a silly suit. Can’t wait to catch Chronicle but also cant get enuff of this Marvel stuff. Must be some nostalgic bug i am coming down with.
