Hard to believe, but the CW’s breakthrough hit show “Arrow”, about the D.C. comic book Green Arrow character, is already scheduled to return to the airwaves next month with a new season. Didn’t it just wrap up its first season like a few months ago? Sheesh. TV scheduling being what it is, I guess we should be glad to get a new season so soon.
And from the looks of it, “Arrow” Season 2 is going to crank up the action, with a very solid new direction for the character, the city, and everyone involved with him. Don’t get me wrong, I love the fact that almost every episode of “Arrow” Season 1 had something pivotal in it that moved the mythology forward, which is a pretty big achievement in a season with over 20 episodes. There’s nothing worse than a show that just keeps doing the same thing over and over again.
Of course, that begs the question: how long before “Arrow” starts getting into a rut? Once the show establishes a fanbase, there’s not a lot of impetus for change. See the later seasons of “Smallville” or “Supernatural”. Here’s hoping “Arrow” keeps getting better.
I’m not the only one anxious to see Flash on the show, right? No signs of him in this latest minute-long preview, but he’s coming…
Season 2 of “Arrow” kicks back into gear this October 9th.
