The Beaver Trailer Debuts. Art Imitating Life? You Decide.

Talk about timely. If I didn’t know that “The Beaver” was in production well before Mel Gibson’s current, er, string of bad PR, I’d swear this movie was a response to all of his current “issues”. A case of art imitating life? Or the other way around? You decide. I know this, though: “The Beaver” looks surprisingly more heartfelt than I thought it would. I mean, come on, it’s Mel Gibson talking through a puppet, for Christ’s sake. Ironically, people have been wondering when Mel Gibson’s “comeback” would begin. This could very well be it. The question is: will people allow it?

Two-time Academy Award(R) winner Jodie Foster directs and co-stars with two-time Academy Award(R) winner Mel Gibson in THE BEAVER – an emotional story about a man on a journey to re-discover his family and re-start his life. Plagued by his own demons, Walter Black was once a successful toy executive and family man who now suffers from depression. No matter what he tries, Walter can’t seem to get himself back on track…until a beaver hand puppet enters his life.

Starring Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster, Anton Yelchin, Jennifer Lawrence, Cherry Jones and directed by Jodie Foster.

The beaver takes over in 2011.
