The Castlevania Movie is Deader than Lindsay Lohan’s Movie Career
Castlevania Movie, Horror Movie News — By Nix on May 26, 2009 |
I don’t know all that much about the Castlevania game, but I do know that the last time I made fun of it, two readers showed up to trumpet its greatness. Well okay, one guy did that, the other guy not-so-politely told me to go eff myself. In any case, sorry, two guys who are waiting for the “Castlevania” movie, because it looks like there won’t be one. Not a surprise, considering this thing has been “in development” since 2007, the last time we heard about it, with Paul W.S. Anderson attached to write and produce, with that “Stomp the Yard” guy attached to direct.
According to the horror blokes over at Bloody-Disgusting, the movie has lost would-be director Sylvain White and was currently in search of a new director, which apparently did not go so well, and the movie is now in development hell, where the chances of it getting made are not good.
Hey, maybe they’ll get lucky and Uwe Boll will take a stab at it. It is based on a videogame, right? Bingo!
But hey, like Lindsay Lohan’s career, it doesn’t mean the movie can’t be resurrected. Maybe it can show up as a stripper in an indie movie or something. You know, just to get people talking…
Below: Production on the movie stalled when the wardrobe budget skyrocketed.

BOOOOO!!! This could have been the vampire flick to rival all Vampire flicks. It could have been freaking awesome. And I will not give up on it. SOMEONE will make this flick cause it just has the potential to be ridculous. Think Van Helsing by way of Zach Snyder, and Guillermo Del Toro and that’s what I was imagining.
Castlevania is Un-Dead. It is somehow still walking around because the people who liked it won’t shut up about it.
There will never be a Castlevania Film of any sort. The Scourge that rent the flesh of Christ that was soaked in his half-mortal blood will never be “cracked” by any Belmont again. The Belmont Lineage is Deceased. There has been an Apostasy of Authority to wield the Vampire Killer.
Dracula is also dead. They effectively killed him and the IDEA of him.
Castlevania is awesome, but no one has the balls to Fashion the Movie into a Mortally Horrifying Film that would be wielded by Hollywood to Scourge into submission the MASSES that are so likened unto sheep.
Man if i had the mola i’d make this into a flick for sure…..I even have some idea’s how it can be a great vampire or monster flick!!!
I say people dont have the so called balls cuz they think it’s gonna be an adult verson of the Monster squad movie(Remember that one? Where Dracula came searching for some tailsman and collected his monster friends to take over agian, but a group of kids Named the monster squad kicked but but sending them into some vortex portal)….
But the Castlevania movie would have to be great which needs a great script a good cast meaning people who can act…Hell they had a great cast for Interveiw with a vampire, why can’t it work for Castlevania?
