honestly, this film was one of the biggest pieces of junk i’ve ever watched. the story SO did not work. there was NO logic in the movie at all. weak character development. pointless sidelines. i can’t believe this piece of crap has received so much praise on here. there is one lesson i learned from the movie, though: i certainly won’t listen to beyondhollywood recommendations anymore.

You know…I thought the exactly same thing that you did until one of my buddies stated to me that the twist isn’t that improbable considering what happened to Archduke Franz Ferdinand and that started WWI. It is strange, but possible…

I watched the movie almost by accident. The movie proved to be really great and worthwhile to recommend to watch again with your movie buff friends. Although rare, I have come to appreciate some of the recent korean films (”Oldboy”, “i am cyborg”, even “the man who was superman” etc ), and applaud for the originality I seldom find in western movies nowadays. I totally agree that the director/ writer, the cast are real talents, and look forward for more. As to the ending, though it might seem a bit forced, and yes it could certainly have been better, still it deserves kudos. And i don’t expect Hollywood can do any better, and afraid that the remake will be terrible, just like what they did to the Departed.

wow, really? I thought this movie was one of the biggest pieces of shit I’ve seen in a long LONG time. It was such an improbable mess of a movie. The absolutely ridiculous characters and character development, the nonsense plot, the stupid fistfights, etc. Especially the ending, I mean really? That was the best you could come up with? I’m not really sure which part you’re talking about when you say tense and unpredictable, b/c I almost fell asleep halfway through the movie.

Honestly, this would be a fantastic film if it wasn’t for that ONE plot twist towards the end that brings the whole enterprise crashing down. The twist is so improbable and forced that it was obviously just thrown in there in a needless attempt to make the film more edgy and gritty than it already was. I was very disappointed by the director’s/writer’s (who usually makes these decisions?) inability to resist the temptation. The twist really is horrible to the point where I can’t understand all the positive buzz the film has received.
