I gotta admit, I’m digging the CW’s new take on the “Nikita” franchise with Maggie Q. in the lead. I had high hopes for the show when it began, and it’s actually kept my interest through the first few batch of episodes, which I have to say, is pretty rare. Being that I suffer badly from A.D.D., once a show loses me, or starts to bore me even a little, I’m usually outta there. “Nikita” hasn’t done that just yet.
And if you’re a fan of the show, too, then you’ll love this news: the CW has given the show, along with a few others, a full first season order. That means “Nikita” will have a full season to make an impression for those who haven’t bought into it yet. If you don’t think that’s great news, ask the guys behind Fox’s “Lone Star” for their opinion.
“Nikita” airs on Thursdays on the CW. It stars Maggie Q. as a former Government assassin who has gone rogue, and is now determined to take down her former employers, a shadowy group known as Division. She’s got help — another version of her, if you will, played by Lyndsy Fonseca is deep cover inside Division trying to take them down from the inside.
If you haven’t given the show a go, I would recommend it. I’m not saying it’s going to blow you away, but it is one hour of decent entertainment. Plus, Maggie Q. is really, really purty.
