Hey, Pittsburgh Batman fans, got those cameras ready? Christopher Nolan and the “Dark Knight Rises” boys (and girls) will be invading your town this Summer for four to six weeks to shoot the third (and probably last) installment of Nolan’s rebooted “Batman” before Warner Bros., uh, reboots it again.
Says Nolan in a statement about the home of the Terrible Towels:
Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. We have been able to find everything we were looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman.
Other shooting locales for the big-budget Warner Bros. film includes Chicago, which has doubled for Gotham City before, as well as Romania and England. Romania? Sounds exactly like where a certain League of Shadows would be based, probably.
Christian Bale returns as the Caped Crusader, along with Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Michael Caine as Alfred, and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. New faces include Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, Tom Hardy as Bane, and Joseph-Gordon Levitt in an as-yet-unconfirmed role, along with their “Inception” co-star Marion Cotillard, who is rumored to be playing Talia, the daughter of Liam Neeson’s character from “Batman Begins”, thus bringing Nolan’s Batman-verse full circle.
