The Dark Knight Rises SPOILER Set Images: Batman vs. Bane

Oh boy. Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. are probably going to pitch a collective gall stone when they find out about this, but check out Christian Bale as Batman and Tom Hardy as Bale slugging it out on a new batch of “The Dark Knight Rises” movie set images. Needless to say, SPOILERS GALORE, so don’t say you weren’t warned.

The scene supposedly takes place on the front steps of Gotham City Hall (via Pittsburgh, PA) and as you can see from the fake snow flurry around the shot, it’s apparently going to be snowing in Gotham City when the fight takes place. Kinda feel bad for both of these guys having to wear those get-up in this heat wave, huh? Especially Bale. Sheesh. Let’s all hope the Batsuit is sweat-proof.

I’ll be honest with you, I’m not sure about Bane’s outfit. He looks way more paramilitary than his comic book roots, but I suppose that was the only path they could have gone with the character. Then again, the main character runs around in a rubber bat suit, so yeah, not sure how realistic that is, but whatever, it’s Christopher Nolan, I’m sure he’ll make it work.

“The Dark Knight Rises” opens July 20th, 2012, and stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, and Nestor Carbonell.

The third picture down makes it look like Bale’s shining Hardy’s head!

Maybe Bale rubs Hardy’s head for luck before each take.

Bane still looks like MAD MAX extra to me, but he looks better without the trenchcoat.

Proof will be in the final onscreen product, but is it weird that Bane is shorter than Batman?

      I so much agree.

The size Bane is in that comic image, he’d have to be CG. He’s about 9ft tall there.

    • Eagle Eye

Yeah, but he could still be a little bigger…

      • http://www.grifiti.com Tin Hoang

Definitely. Even he’s not full comic size, he should be bigger than Batman. Maybe his small stature will be made up for with “big” acting!

        • Eagle Eye

Despite the physical disadvantages, acting wise, Tom Hardy is definatly one of the best people to bring Bane to the big screen (i don’t say again because the Batman and Robin Bane was not Bane)!!!
