So apparently you don’t have to be an over-the-hill former action movie star to be among the cast of “The Expendables” franchise after all. Go figure.
Variety reports that Liam Hemsworth, little brother of Chris (the star of “Thor” and the upcoming “The Avengers”) will join the cast of “The Expendables 2″, though his role remains unknown. Besides doing that movie with that former Disney girl who is now a full-blown skank, Hemsworth is also one of the two male leads in Gary Ross’ upcoming “The Hunger Games” trilogy.
Hemsworth joins an aging cast that includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews and Randy Couture. Fellow old guys Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris will also be added to the cast, with Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger playing a bigger role this time around.
