The Falcon and More in New Images from Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Check out a pair of new images from the Russo brothers’ “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (via LATimes) along with better versions of images that were previously released, but minus all that logo stuff splashed across them. One of the new pics features the good Captain with his new running body The Falcon (above), played by Anthony Mackie. Hey, every superhero’s gotta have a sidekick, right?

As for the plot, well, you already know what it is, but here’s a refresher from the article:

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” takes place months after the events depicted in “Avengers.” In the script by Christopher Markus and Stephen Mc-Feely, Steve has remained in the employ of S.H.I.E.L.D., occasionally teaming with Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, or Black Widow, on key missions. (Robert Redford also stars as a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. officer, Alexander Pierce.)

Yet even as he bonds with a military man named Sam Wilson (Mackie) — who has a superhero alter ego of his own as the Falcon — Cap finds himself with few people he can trust as his past quite literally comes back to haunt him in the form of a close friend turned enemy.

That past would be The Winter Soldier, aka Don’t-Call-Me-Bucky.

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Robert Redford, and Samuel L. Jackson.

    Really can’t wait for this.

Love Cap’s suit at the top. That blue looks way better than the darker blue in Avengers. Like the slight change made to his WWII era suit that they made by adding the third red stripe. Really pulls it all together. Hopefully we’ll see a slightly altered version of that suit (the brown parts changed to red and a sleeker look and texture material) in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

The Avengers suit looked horrible, but I’m loving these two.

Well the one suit is from the first Cap which I love! I didn’t mind the Avengers suit, but it needed to be a darker shade. I like the shade they’re using for this suit (Super Soldier/SHIELD), and the classic WWII suit always looked good to me. I agree with Juggy, a streamlined version of that suit would rock. We’ll probably get something closer to his current look in the comics though.

        • Aegon the Conqueror

That awkward moments when you realise that the man who named himself after one of the most destructive comic book villains has a cute nickname that officially stuck.

LMAO!!!! That needs to be in a comic with Spidey saying it to Juggernaut!

Ah, so that is The Falcon. Good. But, bristle bristle, Sam Wilson is never a sidekick. Sometimes he is a partner, always he is a friend.

Very Very true!! And I think they’re playing him up that way in the film. he’s Cap’s equal in many ways.
