The First Poster for Gantz: Perfect Answer has Been Unleashed

While you’re waiting for someone to deliver the live-action adaptation of the popular manga “Gantz” to North American audiences, feel free to take a look at the first poster for the film’s sequel. “Gantz: Perfect Answer” — otherwise known as “Gantz Part 2″ — will answer some of the questions left dangling at the end of the first feature when it hits Japanese theaters on April 23rd. I’m pretty excited to see this duo of flicks, so hopefully Stateside distribution will take place sometime very, very soon.

Gantz: Perfect Answer (2011) Movie Poster

Author: Todd Rigney

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)

Maybe they’ll take the time to properly subtitle it this time.

I saw this movie last week at Norfolk’s MacArthur Mall movie theater. Dubbed. I love the manga (anime was alright), but the first movie was pretty bad. They changed quite a lot of things. They replaced a major female character (WTF). I guess it was just eye candy. Still planning to watch the second one, but I’m gonna wait till that one is subbed.

    gantz is the best

The changes were made for the sake of pacing – and thankfully one of the remaining major female character was made more kickass than we remember. There is such more content to cover in the second film – how are they going to do it? A trilogy?

Revisiting the beginning of this epic story in the form of this great movie feels like going through an old highschool yearbook. So much has gone on since then and life was somewhat twee compared to what’s going on now in the big bad world.

    Can’t wait till April!
