Hey, it’s the Green Lantern! You know, the one from your childhood? Oh come on, everyone knows who the Green Lantern is, right? The former test pilot turned intergalactic beat cop? Um, okay, so maybe not a whole lot of people know who GL is, but Warner Bros. has spent a lot of money trying to fill you in. Will it work? I don’t know, but it’s certainly worked for the people over at the Onion News Network. Here’s their report on the sure-to-be comic book hit. Cause, you know, who doesn’t love Green Lantern and his, um, ring power, or some such.

On a side note, “Green Lantern” is currently polling at a 25% freshness rating with critics at Rotten Tomatoes from 21 reviews. This … is probably not what Warner Bros. wanted to hear. On the bright side, “Green Lantern” co-star Blake Lively sure has been getting tons of news, huh? Thank you, smartphones!

The Martin Campbell-directed film, starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Temuera Morrison, Jenna Craig, Jon Tenney, Tim Robbins, Angela Bassett, Taika Cohen, Jeff Wolfe, and Michael Clarke Duncan, saves the universe June 17, 2011.

yeah….not excited about this movie…….maybe I just don’t like DC heroes in general outside of Batman.

Yeah I think its the ridiculous powers and craziness of the DCU. I personally see the DCU as like a new Pantheon and mythology and Marvel as more of the demi gods, stories of heroes that come from humanity but are given gifts of the “gods.”

      Sent on the go.

Honestly, I think DC Comics have way more better iconic characters than Marvel.

The reason why most of them doesn’t work on the movies is because seems to be NO ONE is able to find a decent writer to make justice out of them.

If you find a good wroter then, for the love of all is good, get a damn good crew and decent actors to do it!!!.

Marvel have great characters as well, but they’ve been SO smart regarding they’re movies that even THOR worked out. A character I didn’t used to give a cent for. Now, I saw the movie 3 times and I already bought the omnibus. Go figure.
