There’s just something amazingly creepy/terrifying about having a spinning ring of death chasing you around. I’d gladly get shot, stabbed, hell, even arrow’ed, but getting sliced up by some wacky ring that through the air? Brrrr. That’s the weapon of choice for the elite killers of Andrew Lau’s new movie “The Guillotines”, which has been scheduled to make its Stateside debut later this month on VOD and in select theaters next month.

Until then, check out a new U.S. trailer for the film, complete with English subtitles, because obviously understanding Chinese trailers when you can’t speak the language is a tad difficult. And if you’ve got the time, you can read our review of the film here.

A secret brotherhood of assassins—The Guillotines, once favored by the Emperor, are now a force of terror and oppression under a new regime. Exiled to a remote village and hunted by a squad of fighters with firearms that challenge their cold steel, The Guillotines must now outwit and outfight enemies from both sides.

“The Guillotines” stars Shawn Yue, Xiaoming Huang, Zhang Wen, and Yuchun Li.

The film slices onto VOD/iTunes May 14, before finding its way into theaters the following month on June 14. Obviously, as with all limited release films, your chances of seeing it depends entirely on where you live.
