Peeta and Katniss fight on in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” arriving on DVD and Blu-ray this March 7th, 2014 from Liongate. The monster hit has already made over $850 million worldwide, easily surpassing the original by a whopping’ $200 million. Not only that, but foreign ticket sales for the film has also gone way up, and is running neck-and-neck with domestic box office numbers.

Based on the best-selling second novel of Suzanne Collins’ award-winning trilogy, with a screenplay by Simon Beaufoy and Michael DeBruyn and directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend), The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as, against all odds, Katniss and her fellow tribute Peeta have returned home after surviving The Hunger Games. Winning means they must turn around, leaving their loved ones behind and embark on a “Victory Tour” through the districts. Along the way, Katniss senses a rebellion simmering – one that she and Peeta may have sparked. At the end of the Victory Tour, President Snow announces a deadly 75th Hunger Games that could change Panem forever.

The Blu-ray promises over two hours of bonus content, including a Blu-ray-exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, ‘Surviving the Game: Making Catching Fire,’ a 9-part feature-length documentary on the making of the movie. Also included are deleted scenes, an audio commentary with director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson, and a sneak peek at Lionsgate’s upcoming “Divergent.”

Just saw this (and The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug) in the theater yesterday. Great movie! I liked the first one a lot but this one was soooo much better. Can’t wait for Mockingjay Pt. 1 to come out.
