Hey, look, it’s Clive Owen in a suit and tie and he’s got a gun and he’s about to shoot someone! And look, there’s Naomi Watts cowering behind him! Man, if this doesn’t scream, “I gotta see this on opening night!”, nothing will. Well, actually, a better movie poster might have done it, and of course by “better” I mean anything other than this sorry excuse for a movie poster. But maybe I’m being too harsh. “The International” stars Clive Owen and Naomi Watts, and is directed by former German wunderkind Tom Tykwer, of “Run Lola Run” fame. My guess is that both Clive and Naomi will be doing a live of running. Tom seems to like that. It’s his thing.
Poster and plot via Comingsoon:
In the gripping thriller, opening on February 13, Interpol Agent Louis Salinger (Owen) and Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Whitman (Watts) are determined to bring to justice one of the world’s most powerful banks. Uncovering myriad and reprehensible illegal activities, Salinger and Whitman follow the money from Berlin to Milan to New York to Istanbul. Finding themselves in a high-stakes chase across the globe, their relentless tenacity puts their own lives at risk as their targets will stop at nothing – even murder – to continue financing terror and war.
Yes, you read that correctly. It’s Naomi Watts and Clive Owen versus an Evil Bank. What more could you ask for from your thriller? I bet the bank’s ATM machines could, like, probably fire $20 dollar bills at our heroes and such. Man, that would suck, right? Damn evil banks. What’s next, giving mortgage loans to people who can’t afford it?
