I wasn’t all that impress with the first trailer for Francis Lawrence’s “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”. It was okay, but it didn’t blow me away. But I guess that’s why they called it a teaser. This second trailer (fresh from Comic Con) is better, and fans of the books will really like it. And it certainly sells the sequel better to those who have never read the books, promising lots of action and a returned trip to the Arena, this time pitting our heroes against stone-cold killers.
The new trailer, which you can see below, also manages to squeeze in the whole revolution angle simmering in the background. That will play a major role in the final two movies.
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland.
It’s (almost) war this November 22nd.
And here’s a new pic featuring Sam Claflin as Finnick:
