The Last Stand Red Band Trailer Has Cussing, Exploding Bodies

Go figure: I thought Jee-woon Kim’s “The Last Stand”, his Hollywood debut, was a PG-13 movie. Or at least, PG-13-ish. All indications had it being a rather innocuous action movie, a safe venture for the director and his star. From the looks of this Red Band trailer, though, it’s more R. Maybe a little soft R, but R nonetheless. Then again, they could decide to edit out the heavy squib sequences and save them for a “Director’s Cut” on DVD, and maybe shave the cussing a tad. Or not.

Check out a new Red Band trailer for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “The Last Stand”. No one messes with the man’s day off!

After leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy.

Also starring Genesis Rodriguez, Luis Guzmán, Peter Stormare, Jaimie Alexander, Forest Whitaker, Rodrigo Santoro, Harry Dean Stanton, Johnny Knoxville, Zach Gilford, John Patrick Amedori, Daniel Henney, and Eduardo Noriega.

Arnold is the law January 18, 2013.
