Ready to watch some clueless 20-something tourists running from ghostly apparitions in what’s left of the Chernobyl facility? Good, cause here’s a new minute-long TV spot for the Oren Peli-produced film scheduled to provide you with a few cheap thrills next month. “Paranormal Activity’s” Peli will be used to sell this thing, but Brad Parker is your actual director.

“Chernobyl Diaries” is an original story from Oren Peli, who first terrified audiences with his groundbreaking thriller, “Paranormal Activity.” The film follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an “extreme tour” guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone…

The no-name cast includes Jesse McCartney, Jonathan Sadowski, Olivia Dudley, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Nathan Phillips, Pasha D. Lychnikoff, Devin Kelley, Alex Feldman, Dimitri Diatchenko, and Kristof Konrad.

The boos begin May 25, 2012.
