The Official Kick-Ass Teaser Trailer is Mildly Kick-Ass

The “Kick-Ass” official site says this teaser trailer isn’t set to debut until 3 days from now on Myspace, but this vid that’s already up at Myspace’s Trailer Park says differently. It’s a short teaser, and pretty much what you already saw in the Comic Con bootleg versions, though without the profanity and bloodletting. It’s mildly kick ass, but I suppose that’s to be expected given that this is the filmmaker’s first real introduction of the movie to the masses. They can’t exactly go full-bore with a foul-mouthed Hit-Girl now, can they? I suspect that’s coming later in the form of a Red Band trailer, though. Really, you can’t hide the fact that this is one vulgar movie, with much of the vulgarity coming out of the mouth of a tweener.

Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan with a few friends and who lives alone with his father. His life is not very difficult and his personal trials not that overwhelming. However, one day he makes the simple decision to become a super-hero even though he has no powers or training.

Starring Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Mark Strong, Xander Berkeley, Tamer Hassan, Clark Duke, and directed by Matthew Vaughn.

Get ready to kick it April 16, 2010.

Looks pretty good to me. Sets the tone of the film well, and looks to follow the comic faithfully. I for one can’t wait. This is definitely gonna be a hate it or love it film. I’m a little disapointed about the music swap in the opening scene. I loved the fact that it was the John Williams Superman Theme. The 2001 music works too though.
