I’m not sure why the folks behind the never-say-die “Paranormal Activity” franchise didn’t manage to get the film into theaters this October like they’ve been doing for the last four years. Either someone screwed up somewhere along the way, or they’re trying to shake things up. That last part seems highly unlikely, if you know anything about how Hollywood does business, which essentially boils down to, “Keep doing it until it breaks!” And the “The Paranormal Activity” movies haven’t broken yet (at least when it comes to its fans), so I can only assume it’s taking them longer to shoot and cut this movie than they thought.
Here’s the trailer for “The Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones”. It certainly looks like they took the time to write an honest to goodness script and all that this time around. Or a script-ish, anyway. Even if the actors still look and sound like amateurs. I guess that’s the, uh, charm of the franchise?
Anyhoo. Check out the first trailer for “The Marked Ones”. It’s about a bunch of kids who get in trouble with some gangster types in the barrio and then one of them gets possessed by the devil or a demon or something. Seriously, I’m not a very big fan of Found Footage, and an entire franchise based on Found Footage is like the worst thing I could possibly devote any amount of time to besides the 20 or so minutes it just took me to put this post up here on the Interwebs.
Starring Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, David Fernandez Jr., Jorge Diaz, Eddie J. Fernandez, Silvia Curiel, Andrew Jacobs, Catherine Toribio and Julian Works.
The crazy kids run away from demons next year January 3rd, 2014.
