Bryan Singer’s “Jack the Giant Killer” (aka the movie that kept him from directing “X-Men: First Class”) is heating up, and prime candidates to land the young male and female leads in the film have emerged. According to Heat Vision, there are three contenders amongst the boys, and three amongst the girls.
Kick-Ass himself Aaron Johnson, Nicholas Hoult (Beast in Matthew Vaughn’s “X-Men: First Class”) and Aneurin Barnard (never heard of him) are testing for the male lead, a young farmer who must venture into the land of Giants in order to rescue a kidnapped human princess. “Harry Potter’s” Jamie Campbell Bower was apparently also in the running; that is, until he couldn’t run, and had to pull out. So no princess saving for him.
Said princess is currently down to three actresses: Aussie Adelaide Kane, Lily Collins (“Priest”, “The Blind Side”), and Juno Temple (no idea). My guess is that Collins (below) gets the gig. She’s probably the most well-known out of the three girls, and plus, the girl just looks like a fantasy princess, doesn’t she?
Singer, who is also producing “First Class”, will direct from a script by his “Usual Suspects” buddy Christopher McQuarrie, who seems to be scripting just about everything nowadays. The film is said to be uber special effects heavy.
