Frank Castle, aka the Punisher (this time played by Ray Stevenson, taking over for Thomas Jane), is back, and he’s ready to put up an impressive bodycount. From everything I’ve read, and straight from the mouth of director Lexi Alexander, the Punisher we’ll be seeing in “War Zone” is supposed to take his cue from the comics, meaning an impressive bodycount, and no skulking around the bad guy’s family planting evidence, like the last Punisher did.
Starring Ray Stevenson (HBO’s “Rome”) as Punisher, PUNISHER: WAR ZONE is directed by Lexi Alexander and produced by Gale Anne Hurd and Ari Arad. Waging his one-man war on the world of organized crime, ruthless vigilante-hero Frank Castle sets his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After Russoti is left horribly disfigured by Castle, he sets out for vengeance under his new alias: Jigsaw. With the “Punisher Task Force” hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw has recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished.
The Punisher shoots up Winter on December 5, 2008.
