The Rocketeer’s Joe Johnston Directing Alien Invasion Movie Extinction

Joe Johnston

Joe Johnston, who gave us “The Rocketeer,” before following up on that with “Jurassic Park 3″ and more recently, “Captain America: The First Avenger,” will now be plotting the end of the world in the new sci-fi alien invasion flick “Extinction.”

Like most movies nowadays, the plot for “Extinction” is a closely guarded secret, but it’s said to involve an alien invasion and a man trying to save his family from said intergalactic threat. So I guess it’s not really all that closely guarded. Never mind, then.

Spenser Cohen wrote the script, with David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman producing.

Since “Captain America,” Johnston’s got the low-budget thriller “Not Safe for Work” on tap. You know, one of those “low-budget” movie with a mammoth big-budget movie advertising campaign? So in a sense it’s not really low-budget, low-budget.

“Extinction” is currently set up at Good Universe.
