Take a look at the second trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s “After Earth”, the big-budget sci-fi epic that pits the Smiths against an Earth out to kill them. See, this is what happens when you don’t mow your lawn and take the dog out for a walk. Things like this happen, kids. Let this be a lesson to you! And oh yeah, plus one terrifying alien creature on the loose.
And is it me, or are the Smiths affecting some kind of accent? Hell, I think most of the characters in the movie are doing that. My guess is it’s another Shyamalan touch. You know, how he insisted everyone in “The Last Airbender” calls Aang by “Ahng” instead of “Ang”? Looks like more of that here, but I could be wrong.
A crash landing leaves teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his legendary father Cypher (Will Smith) stranded on Earth, 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must learn to work together and trust one another if they want any chance of returning home.
“After Earth” also stars Isabelle Fuhrman, Zoë Kravitz, Sophie Okonedo, and features the directing talents of M. Night Shyamalan.
The Smiths need saving this June 7, 2013.
